Our Pizza Dough Recipe
So on Tuesday I mentioned our pizza dough recipe, so here it is!We have a Cuisinart bread machine, and Husband tweaked a recipe from the included book. This is the large size, so we can make stuffed crust or a side of breadsticks.
Materials and Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons sea salt (or regular, if you need to substitute)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 1/4 cups white flour (the recipe calls for bread flour, be we just substitute and haven't noticed a difference)
- 3/4 cup of whole wheat flour
- 1/2 tablespoon cornmeal
- 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
I don't know exactly how your bread machine works, but this is a 2 pound loaf that you run on the "dough" cycle. Ours takes 1 hr 40 mins to run, your mileage may vary.
Obviously, when it's done in the bread machine, you take it out, lump at it for a bit, and then you can spread it with your hands and/or use a rolling pin—Husband does both. You can read about how we assemble a stuffed crust pizza here.
