The Post I Haven't Been Wanting to Write
OK guys. I didn't expect to be gone from the blog for nearly this long, but besides the fact that my computer is still broken (it works occasionally, and I have a tablet that I use for web browsing, but it's hard to type a lot on the tablet) I haven't really been able to blog/craft for a while. On August 30th, I went to the OB for my 12-weeks-pregnant appointment, and found out that I had lost the baby a few weeks earlier. Because it had been so long and my body didn't realize what it was supposed to do, Husband and I decided that I would have a D&C. I have to be honest, I felt like my world had dropped out from under me for a couple months there. I even considered taking a leave of absence from work, because I didn't feel like I could deal with, well, anything. Just in the last couple weeks have I felt the ability to function, thanks in part to good friends, a supportive family, and medication.
I have several projects on my craft table right now, but my dilemma is that a lot of them are Christmas presents, so I don't know if I should blog about them yet! I would like to take this opportunity, though, to share some pictures of happy things over the last couple months:
Monkey turned two, and Sarah made him an Angry Birds cake. He talked about this thing for months!
Halloween costumes… I love this little rock star!
Since my work Halloween party was on the 28th, I had to do something on actual Halloween, too…
And a little cooking… This is my version of a 1-point Weight Watchers soup—I'll post the recipe next time I make it.
What else have I been up to? Well, pinning a lot of stuff on Pinterest, for starters! (Are you on Pinterest yet? You should be! Email me, and I'll send you an invitation.) I've also started on Weight Watchers again, though I'm still using the old Points system. Between being pregnant for a few months and Kummerspeck (a wonderfully-appropriate German word that translates to "grief bacon"), I gained nearly 20 pounds in three months, and so I'm determined to bring that down. As far as the rest of life goes? We're taking it day by day. Getting back into blogging was one huge brick wall that I'm trying to climb over, and—hooray for me—I've reached the first handhold! I hope to at least have some amusing toddler-anecdotes for you, as we're traveling for Thanksgiving… Wish us luck as we drive 450 miles with a 2-year-old!
