"I'm Not A Monkey Anymore"
Last week, I went downstairs to wake up my toddler. He gave me the cute scrunchy face, stretched, and rolled back over onto his pillow (totally takes after both of his parents). I said "No… It's time to get up… Come here, Monkey, Mommy needs a hug."
As I picked him up (gosh, that kid has gotten long) and pulled him towards me, he said "No, Mamma, I'm not a monkey anymore. I'm Nathan."
That got me thinking. I bought a ticket to go to Snap! Conference last month, with the express purpose of networking and meeting people in person. I printed out some awesome business cards that have my first name on them. I met some other awesome women at a pre-Snap meetup a couple weeks ago… I'm really not anonymous anymore, nor do I particularly want to be. I want to network, and make friends, and have dinner with cool people, and go thrifting. So, Jeff (that's Husband!) and I agreed that I could switch to going by first names on the blog. I don't think I'll be going through the archives and making the change, just because it'll be a pain, but from here on out, you'll be hearing about Nathan instead of Monkey.
In short: Hi! I'm Lori. My son Nathan is two and a half and smart as a whip, and my husband Jeff is pretty cool. See you around!
